 * חפץ חיים - נדחי ישראל פרק כג: עוד נמצא בספרים הקדושים שמי שמתגבר על יצרו בדבר ערוה זוכה ומאיר אור על ראשו מן השמים ובדורות הראשונים היו רואין זה בעיניהן וכדאיתא בסנהדרין (ל"א ע"ב) בהא דשלחו ליה למר עוקבא לדזיו ליה כבר בתיה שלם [כתבו למר עוקבא "שלום למי שזיו פניו כמו של בן בתיה", היינו משה רבינו]. ופירש רש"י שם שמצא בספר אגדה שנתן עיניו באשה אחת ואשת איש היתה והעלה לבו טינא ונפל בחולי לימים נצרכה ללוות ומתוך דוחקה נתרצית לו ונתגבר על יצרו ופטרה לשלום ונעשה לו נס ונתרפא מחליו וכשהיה יוצא לשוק היו רואין שאור דלוק על ראשו מן השמים. ועל כיוצא בדברים אלו אחז"ל בכמה מקומות יש קונה עולמו בשעה אחת על כמה מעשיות שאירעו בדורותיהם. ע"כ צריך לידע כל איש ואיש בדורותינו אם נזדמן לו איזה ענין של איסור ונתגבר על יצרו לכבוד הש"י בודאי יזכהו הקדוש ברוך הוא למדרגה רמה בעוה"ב שיהיה לאות ולתפארת בתוך ישראל וגם בעוה"ז לו ולכל דורותיו הבאים אחריו שיהיו מגבורי ישראל (היינו הגבורים האמתים כנגד יצרן וכמאמר התנא איזהו גבור הכובש את יצרו) ויזכו לעשות תמיד הטוב והישר בעיני ה' וכמו שאמר הכתוב אשרי איש ירא את ה' במצותיו חפץ מאד מה כתיב בתריה גבור בארץ יהיה זרעו דור ישרים יבורך וגו'

 But this idea goes even further. In Michtav Me’Eliyahu (Volume 3 Pages 14-15), Rav Eliyahu Dessler, zt”l, quotes an incredible explanation of this teaching of Avos D’Rebbe Nosson from his father. Our sages teach (Arachin 16b) that when a person wants to take three coins from his wallet and accidentally withdraws only two, requiring him to put his hand back into the wallet to take another coin, Hashem in His infinite mercy counts that as a form of suffering, and it helps atone for some of the person’s sins. Rav Dessler’s father explained that when Avos D’Rebbe Nosson taught that once with difficulty is greater than a hundred times when easy, that refers to the lowest level of challenge, one that would take this minuscule amount of suffering for the person to prevail. Each additional level of challenge or pain multiplies the reward another hundred times (meaning the second level would be 100 x 100 = 10,000 times, and the third level would be 10,000 x 100 = 1,000,000 times, and so on). The value of a mitzvah done despite great difficulty cannot be fathomed, and our ability to accomplish such astounding achievements should make us light up with excitement!

Clearly this is no different. How much is a regah? The gemara in Berochos says it's a lot less than a second. But let's just count seconds. '''20DAYS is 1MILLION!!! 728 THOUSAND!!! seconds''' And for each one you are going to get an unfathomable reward. And on top of all that, your such a tremendous chizuk to all of us, which is a huge zechus in itself.  Speak to Hashem often in a personal way, tell Him how you feel. Tell Him that you're doing all this for Him. Ask Him to remove the distance caused by the sins. Ask Him to actualize GUE's beautiful words and that all your desire should be redirected to Hashem. Try to take all that pent up energy and use it to pour your heart out to Hashem.
