The 30 Task Model, as developed by Patrick Carnes, focuses on assisting the sex addict in accomplishing specific cognitive and behavioural tasks. If successfully implemented and honoured, it is likely to result in sobriety being achieved and maintained. Each task is associated with several life competencies, also called ‘performables’ (Carnes, 2009). Birchard, T., & Benfield, J. (Eds.). (2017). Routledge International Handbook of Sexual Addiction.
